Who we are

Remote workers. Educators. Gear nerds. Neighbors.

TC Audio Collective started because Northern Michigan is full of remarkable people doing remarkable things with sound — and most of them don't know each other. We meet once a month to share gripes, raves, and gear talk; listen to each other's work; and stay connected through the winters that make isolation feel default.

We draw professionals from NMC, Interlochen, and beyond — producers, composers, implementers, educators, film audio folks, and the occasional curious human who just loves sound.

01
Monthly meetup
Second Friday, 9–10:30 AM. In-person in TC. Low-key, no agenda, no slides required.
02
Studio tours
Occasional visits to local studios and rooms — Dolby Atmos setups, home rigs, and more.
03
Workshops
Hands-on sessions — room calibration, mic techniques, Atmos workflows. Venue varies.
04
Visiting guests
When interesting people pass through town at the right time, we try to get them in a room.
Come hang

All are welcome. Seriously.

If you work in or around audio — professionally, academically, or obsessively — you belong here. We've had game audio engineers, podcast producers, recording instructors, composers, and sound designers all in the same room. The bar is: you care about sound.

Drop us a line and we'll add you to the invite list. Free to attend, hosted in Traverse City, completely informal.
