A monthly check-in for music producers, sound designers, audio educators, and adjacent obsessives in and around Traverse City. No agenda. No badges. Just caffeine, signal, and conversation.
TCAC started because Northern Michigan turns out to be full of people doing serious work with sound — and most of them had never met each other. We get together once a month to swap gripes, raves, and gear opinions; play each other's work-in-progress; and stay connected through long winters and the kind of summers that lure everyone outside.
We pull from NMC, Interlochen, and the wider region — producers, composers, implementers, educators, film and game audio people, and the occasional curious human who just loves sound and wants to be in the room.
Hosted by Ted Kocher — PlayStation Studios music lead, displaced to Traverse City, mildly evangelical about getting people in the same room.
The bar to attend is low. The bar to be interesting is also low — everyone is, somehow.
If you work in or around audio — professionally, academically, or obsessively — you belong here. We've had game audio engineers, podcast producers, recording instructors, composers, sound designers, and one very kind woodworker who came for the coffee and stayed for the conversation. The bar is: you care about sound.
Drop a note and we'll add you to the invite list. Free to attend, hosted in Traverse City, gloriously informal.
Bring a thing you're working on. Or don't. It really doesn't matter.
TCAC is free to attend and not free to run. One sponsor per month gets logo placement, a real verbal acknowledgment at the meetup, and inclusion in event communications. No tiered packages, no decks, no calls — just ted@tedkocher.com.
One month, one sponsor, one handshake.
Want a monthly invite? Have a question or a half-cooked idea? Send a note — we'll add you to the next one.
